Dermal Fillers

As we age, skin components break down causing loss of structure and volume. Our skin is left with unwelcome lines and wrinkles. The appearance of wrinkles can be smoothed by adding volume from underneath, bringing structure back to the surface. Injectables can offer non-surgical, instatnt results. One material proven to be safe in wrinkle correction is hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural sugar found in living cells. HA retains water, increasing the volume and density of your skin. Restylane® and Juvéderm™ are non-animal based HA fillers. These products are biodegradable and biocompatible with human HA. HA fillers are used to restore volume to wrinkles like those that form from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). Typical results last 4-6 months.

Possible side effects of treatment:

  • Redness and/or swelling may occur. This may last up to seven days. Pain and bruising at the injection site may occur. Exposure to extreme heat or cold should be avoided until swelling and redness disappear.
  • If you have a history of facial cold sores, consult your physician before treatment.

Contraindications:

  • Previous allergic reation to gram-positive bacteria
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • Those under the age of 18
